Was happily having lunch with a friend and a bombshell was dropped on me..
So it struck me to write this post..With no names attached watsoever..with no specific examples to protect the identity of the witnesses of this case..I hereby begin this post..Hee...
I believe that before u can love others, love yourself first. Before you want to make others happy, u make urself happy first. Because people sense unhappiness in you, and it affects them..
I also believe in making a conscious effort in choosing who you keep close to your heart and those whom u feel is best to avoid. A lot of factors contribute to this choice. One of them would be how they contribute to make u better. How they are a positive energy in your life. It can be viewed as being selfish but let's face it..In the long run, you're in this life faced with your own issues, own goals..Choosing wisely is the only wise thing to do.
Life is complicated when it's made complicated. Look at the bigger picture. Think of your future of the non-existence of it when u choose to keep this person close to you. How will it affect you? Your family? Your friends? Are you prepared to face society's stereotype or pressure? Are you settled in your life and where it is heading to take this on? My advice to my friend is this.. Dun shut your eyes to the reality, though the reality hurts. Think more deeply about the issue. Do not be selfish to others that you love. Why shoot youself in the foot? You mean more to them than u actually know. ..
In my own blunt words: Ciao before it gets deeper.
